ABOUT THE TOWN OF ANDENNE

The municipality of Andenne is situated on the River Meuse and covers an area of 86.17 km². Its highest point above sea level is the Col de Stud, rising to 187 m, although the exact altitude of the highest point is 218 m at the Stud mill. Culturally, Andenne is known for its Carnival of the Bears, held each year on Laetare (mid-Lent). It is also recognised for its Wallonia Festivals, during which tasting peket is a long-standing tradition. Its Ceramics Biennale and its annual rock festival (Bear Rock Festival), established in 1995, are also well known.
