Chiny is a town in the province of Luxembourg, situated in the Walloon Region, the French-speaking part of Belgium. Historically, Chiny has also been part of the Gaume region of Lorraine.

The municipality of Chiny is situated in Gaume. Suxy is the only village in the municipality that is not located there.
The town of Chiny is now nestled amongst the forests and surrounded by the Semois, a tributary of the Meuse, except on its southern side.
