The town of Péruwelz is home to countless talented photographers, and there are endless opportunities to capture beautiful images there.

Péruwelz is a French-speaking town in Belgium, situated in the Walloon Region in the province of Hainaut. It lies on the border with France and neighbours towns such as Condé-sur-l’Escaut, Vieux-Condé and Hergnies, as well as the Bon-Secours Forest, home to the Château de l’Hermitage. The municipality of Péruwelz now comprises ten local authorities. This cross-border town is known for its folklore and its many festivities.
In particular, on the last Sunday in September, you can come across a large gathering of around forty giants from the region during the Fiète des Rigolos.
In August, the Course des Sources takes place there. A blend of sport, folklore and celebration, this international running event follows a route that is by turns urban, rural and wooded; it is punctuated by colourful refreshment stations, which are worth the trip in their own right.
The Fêtes de Sainte-Anne festival, a key event for the people of Péruwelz, celebrates the patron saint of the thread and needle craftsmen who were once very prosperous in our region.
Not to mention the Marche du Casseu d’Quinquet, Remember Day, the Gare aux Fleurs, the Rambladerie, the Ducasse du Remboire and the Christmas Village.

Péruwelz also has a rich cultural heritage, including the Basilica of Bon-Secours. The present basilica, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, was built in the Neo-Gothic style between 1885 and 1892. It stands at the heart of a Marian pilgrimage that began in the Middle Ages around an old oak tree dedicated to Notre-Dame-du-chêne-entre-deux-bois.

Péruwelz is a popular destination for nature lovers, thanks to its superb landscapes. Visitors can explore the Plaines de l’Escaut Nature Park, the Belgian counterpart to the French Scarpe-Escaut Regional Nature Park, which was the first regional nature park established in France and remains the most urbanised. Together, these two parks form the Hainaut Cross-Border Nature Park, an important area of the pan-European ecological network thanks to the pockets of preserved nature.
