Seraing is a French-speaking town in Belgium, situated in the Walloon Region in the province of Liège. It was once the site of the former summer residence of the Prince-Bishops of Liège before becoming an industrial town in the 19th century.

Together with, notably, Liège, Herstal, Saint-Nicolas, Ans and Flémalle, it forms the Liège conurbation (600,000 inhabitants). Seraing marks the boundary between the urban and rural parts of Belgium. To the south, the town is bordered by a vast forest that forms part of the Condrusian Ardennes, a sub-region of the Condroz.

The town has several secondary schools: the Lucie Dejardin Royal Grammar School, the Air Pur Royal Grammar School, Saint Martin’s Secondary School, the Seraing Polytechnic School and the Seraing Provincial Secondary School. Campus 2000, located in Jemeppe-sur-Meuse, is the main site of the Haute École de la Province de Liège.
