Orchid Ceremony

Six photographers were honoured at the Orchidées awards.
Walloon Brabant is home to many remarkable individuals. Each year, the province honours citizens and organisations that have distinguished themselves in various fields (culture, music, sport, the economic or social sectors, etc.). Since 1995, prominent figures and projects from Walloon Brabant have been celebrated at the Orchid Awards Ceremony.

The 2022 Orchid Awards ceremony, organised by Walloon Brabant, took place on Friday 23 September at La Sucrerie in Wavre. This evening event, hosted by Luana Fontana (Les Niouzz), was an opportunity to honour the talented individuals who have contributed to Walloon Brabant’s reputation. Two innovations marked this edition: members of the public nominated the winners, and residents of Walloon Brabant and provincial officials participated in the ceremony.

The winners of the 2022 edition are:

• the rapper 13Mini (Jeunesse);
• Indrani Lodge, a farmhouse renovated and converted into an eco-friendly hotel (Environment);
• the biopharmaceutical company Novadip Biosciences (Economy), a pioneer in the field of bone reconstruction;
• the non-profit organisation Ecole hôpital et domicile (Action sociale): a non-profit organisation that helps sick children who are unable to attend school;
• Maud Michotte, the winner of Koh-Lanta 2019 (Sport), who reached the summit of Everest;
• the young virtuoso pianist Taïlin Donckers (Culture).
