ABOUT THE PROVINCE OF NAMUR

The province of Namur is teeming with talented photographers, and opportunities for beautiful images abound.

The province of Namur is a Belgian province in the Walloon region. It is located in the center of Belgium and is under the authority of the Walloon Region.

The Provincial Council of Namur is in a sense the "parliament" of the Province, for which it establishes regulations and entrusts day-to-day management to the Provincial College. The Provincial Council is convened by its President at the provincial capital whenever matters within its remit require it, and at least once a month - as a general rule, it meets on the last Friday of the month at the provincial palace. The Governor attends the meetings of the Provincial Council and is heard whenever he so requests.
These meetings are open to the public. Any citizen may, if he wishes, attend the deliberations of the assembly - except those which concern individuals or are the subject of a decision to the contrary, for which the meeting must be held in camera.
The inhabitants of the province may, moreover, directly question the provincial college, at a public meeting of the council. They may also request written explanations of the deliberations of the Provincial Council and College.
