Bastogne is a French-speaking town in Belgium and a district capital situated in the Walloon Region and the Belgian Ardennes in the province of Luxembourg.

Best known for the siege the city endured during the Battle of the Ardennes in 1944, the city has several monuments commemorating these events, the most significant of which is the Mardasson Memorial, unveiled in 1950.

Bastogne is also one of the key stages of the ‘classic’ Liège–Bastogne–Liège, the ‘oldest’ of all cycle races, founded in 1892, and it was in this town that the Circuit des Ardennes, the first major motor race held on a closed circuit, was organised from 1902 to 1907.
