ABOUT THE TOWN OF SPA
The town of Spa is home to numerous talented photographers, and there are many opportunities to capture beautiful images there.
Spa is a French-speaking town in Belgium, situated in the Walloon Region in the province of Liège. It is known for its thermal springs.
Spa is situated on the edge of the Ardennes mountains, at the gateway to the Hautes Fagnes in the Wayai valley. The town centre is surrounded by wooded hills, including the Annette and Lubin hills to the north. The town borders the rural municipalities of Theux, Jalhay, Stavelot and Stoumont in the district of Verviers in the province of Liège.
In addition to its many picturesque narrow streets and distinctive atmosphere, Spa offers numerous green spaces and pleasant walks. The town provides a suitable setting for photo shoots that showcase your company, organisation or institution.
Spa is a multifaceted town, well suited to photography.
In the early 14th century, Spa was the name of a place, a water source, now known as Pouhon Pierre-le-Grand. At that time, the market town of Spa developed within the oldest ironworks centre in the Liège region, on the initiative of the Bredar family, of whom Collin de Spa was a member. The district of Spa, established around 1335, comprised two urban centres: the ‘vilhe de Creppe’ and the ‘vilhe’ of Spas, situated two kilometres apart. The iron and steel industry predated the exploitation of mineral waters. It was the iron and steel trade that developed the transport links, which in turn made the development of the spa town possible.
In Spa you can visit the world’s oldest casino, a modern spa centre, a variety of vibrant shops, a network of signposted walking trails rich in points of interest, and many other activities.
We can provide you with a professional photographer in Spa whose skills match your requirements for photojournalism.
