Capturing the essence of the EU-LAC Business Roundtable in photos: A reflection on the presence of eminent leaders.

As ISOWAY, a photo agency based in Brussels, Belgium and specializing in institutional photojournalism, we had the distinct honor of providing photographic coverage of the EU-LAC 2023 Business Round Table, which brought together political leaders, business leaders, heads of development finance institutions and industry associations for high-level discussions.

We're delighted to share with you, in photos, the remarkable experience we had at the EU-Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Business Round Table held on July 17, 2023 at the prestigious Berlaymont building, headquarters of the European Commission, in Brussels, Belgium.

The EU-LAC 2023 Business Round Table was jointly organized by the European Commission, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), as a prelude to the EU-CELAC Summit of Heads of State and Government. This invitation-only event provided a platform for productive dialogue, fostering stronger ties between the European Union and the nations of Latin America and the Caribbean, and exploring strategic investment opportunities.

The distinguished presence of influential leaders at the corporate round table testified to its importance in shaping the global gateway investment program. We were privileged to capture moments with leading personalities, including :

  • Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.

  • Pedro Sanchez, President of the Spanish government.

  • Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil.

  • Ilan Goldfajn, President of the Inter-American Development Bank.

  • Werner Hoyer, President of the European Development Bank. 

The event covered crucial topics such as renewable energies and green hydrogen, essential raw materials, decarbonization, transport infrastructure projects, 5G and last-mile connectivity, digitization of utilities, sustainable finance and green bonds. In addition, round tables (covered by our photographers) provided insight into barriers to investment, regulatory frameworks, education, job creation, value chains, social impact, inequality and vocational training, ensuring a comprehensive and diverse perspective on the path to progress.
