ISOWAY provided photography coverage of the EU-LAC Business Round Table 2023 in Brussels, documenting speeches, panel discussions and exchanges between political leaders, business executives and representatives of international financial institutions.

We are pleased to share with you, through these photographs, the experience we had at the EU–Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Business Round Table, which took place on 17 July 2023 in the Berlaymont building, the headquarters of the European Commission, in Brussels, Belgium.

The 2023 EU-LAC Business Round Table was organised jointly by the European Commission, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), in the run-up to the EU-CELAC Summit of Heads of State and Government. This invitation-only event served as a platform for productive dialogue, fostering stronger ties between the European Union and the nations of Latin America and the Caribbean, and exploring opportunities for strategic investment.

The presence of influential business leaders at the corporate round table underscored its importance in shaping the Global Gateway investment programme. We had the privilege of capturing moments with leading figures, including:

  • Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
  • Pedro Sánchez, President of the Spanish Government.
  • Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
  • Ilan Goldfajn, President of the Inter-American Development Bank.
  • Werner Hoyer, President of the European Development Bank.

The event addressed crucial topics such as renewable energy and green hydrogen, critical raw materials, decarbonisation, transport infrastructure projects, 5G and last-mile connectivity, the digitalisation of public services, sustainable finance and green bonds. The panel discussions, covered by our professional photographers, also explored barriers to investment, regulatory frameworks, education, job creation, value chains, social impact, inequalities and vocational training, providing a comprehensive and diverse perspective on the path to progress.
