Choosing the right photo lab is an art for professional photographers.
And how can you be sure that the results from the photo lab are of the highest quality?
To answer this thorny question asked by many professional photographers and photography enthusiasts alike, we met Stéphane Luyten, boss of Colorfields lab in Wavre, Walloon Brabant, just outside Brussels.
Stéphane talks to us about his job and his passion, and answers our questions straightforwardly.
Tell us about Colorfields.
COLORFIELDS - Fine Art Printing - is a photo laboratory founded over 40 years ago. Our mission is to produce the finest prints on the most beautiful types of paper available on the market, or on HD aluminum (ChromaLuxe®). Our activities began in Brussels and will be relocated to a vast, modern building in Wavre Nord by the end of 2020. A five-strong team is dedicated to delivering impeccable work with passion and professionalism.
Why do photographers come to Colorfields?
Photographers come to Colorfields for our personalized welcome and our understanding of their expectations and needs. They particularly appreciate our support, advice and services. Our expertise and the quality of our prints, collages and framing are recognized by many photographers. They feel confident when they walk through the door of our professional lab, and we pay particular attention to meeting deadlines.
The care we take with framing and the fact that it's done in our workshops is also a plus.

It's not just photographers who come to you. Can you tell us a little more about them?
Indeed, in addition to professional and amateur photographers, we also regularly supply customers who want to please themselves - or others - with beautiful prints. We also regularly work for communications agencies and architects, who entrust us with jobs, sometimes major ones, such as hotel or office decorations. We also produce invitations and souvenir photos for many funeral directors.
For a professional photographer, it's crucial to choose a good lab that understands your needs, advises and supports you, and works to the same high standards as you do. Its professional know-how and choice of techniques and materials are essential to convey and share emotions, your emotions as a photographer and those of your customers.
