ABOUT THE TOWN OF SCHILTIGHIEM

Schiltigheim is home to numerous talented photographers, and the location offers many opportunities for striking imagery.

Schiltigheim is a French commune situated in the Bas-Rhin department, in the Grand Est region.

Schiltigheim is situated in the historic and cultural region of Alsace.
Its inhabitants are known as the Schilikois (Schìlligemer or Scheligemer in Alsatian).

Situated in the Strasbourg metropolitan area, Schiltigheim borders Strasbourg along its entire northern edge. The other neighbouring municipalities are Bischheim, Hœnheim, Niederhausbergen, Mittelhausbergen and Oberhausbergen. A small exclave of Schiltigheim is situated between the municipalities of Hœnheim and Souffelweyersheim.

The municipality is crossed by the River Ill, the River Aare and the Marne–Rhine Canal.

Schiltigheim is also the third-largest municipality in the Bas-Rhin in terms of population and the fifth-largest in Alsace.

In addition to its characteristic narrow streets and distinctive atmosphere, Schiltigheim offers numerous green spaces and pleasant walks. The town provides an ideal setting for photographers and for creating unique photo reports that showcase your company, organisation or institution.
