200 people take part in the First National Peacekeepers' Day in Brussels.

Nearly 200 peacekeepers (-constatateurs) gathered in Brussels on May 9, 2023 for the first national Peacekeeper Day, organized by the Security and Prevention Directorate General (DGSP) of the Federal Public Service Home Affairs.

Guardiens de la paix are an integral part of Belgium's security policy, and one of the country's most important security professions. Peacekeepers work within a local administration and are the first point of contact for citizens within the municipality. In particular, they are responsible for security and prevention tasks designed to increase citizens' sense of security and prevent public nuisance and crime.
